Soil Management
Often when purchasing a new home or piece of land, or when redoing an existing lot, poor soil content is a common factor in a wild or neglected landscape. Most Hampton landscapes sit on a grey clay bed layered with sand and, if you’re lucky, a thin layer of topsoil. As a part of proper site preparation, we have developed a tried-and-true method of soil screening. The existing topsoil is processed on-site through our screening equipment wherein we remove rocks, roots, and debris while salvaging usable material. An organic kelp mix with rich compost is then added, which establishes the land with a long-term foundation for a well-nourished and enduring landscape environment.
